Research suggests that a well-nourished child is more likely to attend school regularly, be a better learner, and participate actively in the classroom. Unfortunately, many families face obstacles in providing a healthy meal each day. Tight budgets for low-income families make it difficult to provide healthy meals to children daily. This may affect their academics, brain function, overall wellness, and health. Our School Feeding Programs play a critical role in filling this void for many low-income children every school day. Through the program, we have supported around 1,080 students at 3 schools in Bangalore by serving daily meals. Your support can help us expand this initiative and reach more children who need nutritious meals to grow and learn effectively.
This program contributes to SDG 2: Zero Hunger by improving food security for children and SDG 4: Quality Education by enhancing their ability to learn and participate in school.
Our School Feeding Programs serves freshly cooked hot nutritious meals for all students on a regular basis at their schools. Bangalore Food Bank develops the diet plan with different items considering the local food culture, preferences and the nutrition content. The food is prepared at the schools or by a vendor and served to school for distribution. The impact is measured to track the nutrition growth of the students.
